Parliament Live Updates: Both Houses adjourned as opposition demands discussion on Delhi violence:- Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on Monday witnessed noisy scenes with the opposition protesting against the Modi government over the violence in Delhi along with the opposition demanding the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah. However, both the parliament houses’ proceedings were disrupted for the second day on Tuesday as well. Amid sloganeering by the opposition members in Lok Sabha, Speaker Om Birla Tuesday said that the government is ready for discussion on Delhi violence after Holi. He adjourned the proceedings after ruckus prevailed in the House. Rajya Sabha has adjourned again after it resumed proceedings at 2 pm.

Earlier in the morning, Bahujan Samaj Party’s Satish Chand Mishra has given Suspension of Business Notice under Rule 267 in Rajya Sabha, over violence in Delhi. BJP MP Saroj Pandey has given Zero Hour Notice over ‘one nation, one election.’ Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has called a meeting of leaders of all political parties as logjam over Delhi violence continues in the Parliament.
On the other hand, Shiv Sena gives adjournment notice in the Lok Sabha over Delhi violence. Congress MPs Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Gaurav Gogoi, and Manicka Tagore have given Adjournment Motion Notice in Lok Sabha over Delhi violence.
Around 11 am the ruckus over Delhi violence in Lok Sabha. Congress MPs led by Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury rake up the Delhi violence issue. Speaker Om Birla warns Opposition MPs to abstain from creating a ruckus in the House and not disrupt proceedings. Om Birla warns MPs will be suspended if the MPs start protesting in the Well of the House. Due to this, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm following uproar over Delhi violence. On the other hand, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla banned the use of placards inside the House. If you want to run the House by bringing placards, say it on record, the Speaker said before adjourning the session till 12 noon.
The Lok Sabha resumed proceedings at 12 noon and was adjourned for a second time today after 4 minutes of proceedings. The Opposition is adamant over its demand to discuss the Delhi violence issue in the House.
Meanwhile, the parliamentary committee on health, environment and urban development is likely to convene a meeting to discuss the coronavirus outbreak soon. The meeting is expected to be held later this week.
On the other hand, the Lok Sabha continues to witness noisy scenes with relentless opposition raising the issue of Delhi violence. The Speaker, however, said the debate on Delhi violence will take place after Holi and later adjourned the House as the ruckus continued.
After Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha has also been adjourned till 11 am tomorrow.
